# WSTR vs Ghost Light

The clearest difference is monetization model: Ghost Light at free with in-app purchases against WSTR's subscription. Ghost Light also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5). WSTR's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (58 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WSTR sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year and Ghost Light sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ghost Light holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WSTR has 58 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

WSTR ships an update every 6 days, Ghost Light every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
