# Trena vs Fit Mentor

Trena and Fit Mentor both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 83% of Fit Mentor's written reviews are positive against 61% of Trena's. Fit Mentor also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.4). Trena's advantage is ratings volume (23 vs 4). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Trena sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Fit Mentor sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $18.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Trena against 4.8 for Fit Mentor. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trena has 23 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 61% of Trena's written reviews are positive against 83% of Fit Mentor's.

Trena ships an update weekly, Fit Mentor fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
