# Flex vs Notepad

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Flex at none against Notepad's 3. Flex also leads on ads (none vs shown). Notepad's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notepad sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Flex asks for nothing beyond the download.

Flex ships an update every 3 months, Notepad monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
