# Quip vs Altheru

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Quip at none against Altheru's 1. Quip also leads on ratings volume (26K vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). Altheru's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 6 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Altheru sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Quip asks for nothing beyond the download.

Altheru holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Quip has 26K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Quip ships an update every 6 weeks, Altheru every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
