# Intelius Search vs Findmypast

Intelius Search and Findmypast both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 58% of Intelius Search's written reviews are positive against 18% of Findmypast's. Intelius Search also leads on ratings volume (9.9K vs 821) and chart position (#98 vs unranked). Findmypast's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Intelius Search sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Findmypast sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Intelius Search against 4.6 for Findmypast. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Intelius Search has 9.9K ratings behind it against 821, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 58% of Intelius Search's written reviews are positive against 18% of Findmypast's.

Intelius Search ships an update every 3 months, Findmypast fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
