# Intelius Search vs Lurking

The clearest difference is monetization model: Intelius Search at free with in-app purchases against Lurking's subscription. Intelius Search also leads on ratings volume (10K vs 1) and chart position (#116 vs unranked). Lurking's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Intelius Search sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Lurking sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lurking holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Intelius Search has 10K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Intelius Search ships an update every 3 months, Lurking monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
