# AQL vs OBD Diagnostics

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: AQL at none against OBD Diagnostics's 1. AQL also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.2). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OBD Diagnostics sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. AQL asks for nothing beyond the download.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
