# Coconote vs NoteMate

Coconote and NoteMate both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of NoteMate's written reviews are positive against 71% of Coconote's. NoteMate also leads on iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). Coconote's advantage is ratings volume (17K vs 5) and chart position (#49 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Coconote sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and NoteMate sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Coconote against 4.8 for NoteMate. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Coconote has 17K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 71% of Coconote's written reviews are positive against 100% of NoteMate's.

Coconote ships an update weekly, NoteMate every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
