# PPFD METER vs Lux Meter

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Lux Meter at 100% against PPFD METER's 53%. Lux Meter also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). PPFD METER's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (129 vs 9). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PPFD METER sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Lux Meter sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lux Meter holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PPFD METER has 129 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.
