# DotCounter vs Tally

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Tally at none against DotCounter's 1. Tally also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). DotCounter's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 8 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DotCounter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Tally asks for nothing beyond the download.

DotCounter ships an update every 3 months, Tally every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
