# DotCounter vs ZZZ MDEditor

The clearest difference is update cadence: ZZZ MDEditor at every 3 weeks against DotCounter's every 4 months. ZZZ MDEditor also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DotCounter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and ZZZ MDEditor sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DotCounter ships an update every 4 months, ZZZ MDEditor every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
