# Off The Grid vs MeshCore

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Off The Grid at none against MeshCore's 1. Off The Grid also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (3.5K vs 93). MeshCore's advantage is review sentiment (74% vs 45%) and device support (3 vs 1). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MeshCore sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Off The Grid asks for nothing beyond the download.

Off The Grid holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Off The Grid has 3.5K ratings behind it against 93, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of Off The Grid's written reviews are positive against 74% of MeshCore's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Off The Grid ships an update weekly, MeshCore every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
