# Sky VPN vs Bear VPN

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Sky VPN at 84% against Bear VPN's 40%. Bear VPN's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.4) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sky VPN sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Bear VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bear VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bear VPN has 11K ratings behind it against 1.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Sky VPN's written reviews are positive against 40% of Bear VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sky VPN ships an update every 3 weeks, Bear VPN weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
