# Milestone vs Slice Academy

The clearest difference is monetization model: Milestone at free with in-app purchases against Slice Academy's subscription. Milestone also leads on ratings volume (3K vs 13). Slice Academy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Milestone sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Slice Academy sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Slice Academy holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Milestone has 3K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Milestone ships an update weekly, Slice Academy every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
