# CoreDefence vs NetGuard

The clearest difference is monetization model: NetGuard at free with in-app purchases against CoreDefence's subscription. NetGuard also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). CoreDefence's advantage is ratings volume (446 vs 144). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CoreDefence sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per 7 days and NetGuard sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NetGuard holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 446 and 144 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 74% of CoreDefence's written reviews are positive against 75% of NetGuard's.

CoreDefence ships an update every 3 weeks, NetGuard every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
