# Scala vs PRV

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: PRV at none against Scala's 8. PRV also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.4). Scala's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scala sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. PRV asks for nothing beyond the download.

Scala ships an update weekly, PRV every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
