# Scala vs Evo

Scala and Evo both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Evo's written reviews are positive against 50% of Scala's. Evo also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 7) and update cadence (daily vs weekly). On price, rating and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scala sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Evo asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Scala against 4.9 for Evo. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Evo has 25 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of Scala's written reviews are positive against 100% of Evo's.

Scala ships an update weekly, Evo daily. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
