# CompTIA Cloud+ Prep vs EC

The clearest difference is update cadence: CompTIA Cloud+ Prep at every 3 months against EC's every 7 months. CompTIA Cloud+ Prep also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CompTIA Cloud+ Prep sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and EC sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CompTIA Cloud+ Prep ships an update every 3 months, EC every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
