# NebulaBuds vs Whale Echo

The clearest difference is rating: Whale Echo at 5.0 against NebulaBuds's 4.4. NebulaBuds's advantage is ratings volume (16K vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NebulaBuds sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Whale Echo sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Whale Echo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NebulaBuds has 16K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NebulaBuds ships an update every 2 weeks, Whale Echo weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
