# PDF Scanner vs Flow

The clearest difference is update cadence: Flow at every 2 days against PDF Scanner's every 3 weeks. Flow also leads on ratings volume (6 vs 1). PDF Scanner's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Scanner sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Flow sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for PDF Scanner against 5.0 for Flow. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flow has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PDF Scanner ships an update every 3 weeks, Flow every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
