# NoPlex vs Untangle

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Untangle at 100% against NoPlex's 50%. Untangle also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.6). NoPlex's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NoPlex sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Untangle sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Untangle holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NoPlex has 65 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of NoPlex's written reviews are positive against 100% of Untangle's.

NoPlex ships an update every 5 days, Untangle fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
