# Altering vs Hello.Serene

The clearest difference is rating: Altering at 4.5 against Hello.Serene's 4.0. Altering also leads on ratings volume (6 vs 1). Hello.Serene's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (daily vs fortnightly). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Altering sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Hello.Serene asks for nothing beyond the download.

Altering holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Altering has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of Altering's written reviews are positive against 100% of Hello.Serene's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Altering ships an update fortnightly, Hello.Serene daily. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
