# Codalingo vs ReadBay

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ReadBay at 85% against Codalingo's 43%. ReadBay also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 4 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Codalingo sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and ReadBay sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReadBay holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ReadBay has 239 ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 43% of Codalingo's written reviews are positive against 85% of ReadBay's.

Codalingo ships an update every 4 months, ReadBay every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
