# Pocket Uke vs Saxophone Sim

The clearest difference is rating: Saxophone Sim at 4.3 against Pocket Uke's 2.7. Saxophone Sim also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (70 vs 3). Pocket Uke's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pocket Uke sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Saxophone Sim sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Saxophone Sim holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Saxophone Sim has 70 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
