# Waread vs ThisNovel

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Waread at 76% against ThisNovel's 43%. Waread also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (54 vs 4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Waread sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and ThisNovel sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Waread holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Waread has 54 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 76% of Waread's written reviews are positive against 43% of ThisNovel's.

Waread ships an update every 3 weeks, ThisNovel fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
