# Ai Girlfriend vs Ruby Chat

The clearest difference is monetization model: Ruby Chat at free with in-app purchases against Ai Girlfriend's subscription. Ruby Chat also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.4). Ai Girlfriend's advantage is ratings volume (6.2K vs 306) and review sentiment (70% vs 56%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ai Girlfriend sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Ruby Chat sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ruby Chat holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ai Girlfriend has 6.2K ratings behind it against 306, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Ai Girlfriend's written reviews are positive against 56% of Ruby Chat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ai Girlfriend ships an update every 2 weeks, Ruby Chat every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
