# Dark Notes vs 鬼樓回魂

The clearest difference is rating: Dark Notes at 4.7 against 鬼樓回魂's 4.1. 鬼樓回魂's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dark Notes sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and 鬼樓回魂 sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dark Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 30 and 18 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Dark Notes's written reviews are positive against 48% of 鬼樓回魂's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Dark Notes ships an update every 4 months, 鬼樓回魂 every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
