# Connect vs Boat

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Connect at 100% against Boat's 33%. Connect also leads on rating (5.0 vs 2.7) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Boat's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (38 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Connect holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Boat has 38 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Connect's written reviews are positive against 33% of Boat's.

Connect ships an update every 6 months, Boat every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on June 16, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
