# Just a simple speedometer vs Speedometer

The clearest difference is rating: Just a simple speedometer at 5.0 against Speedometer's 4.4. Just a simple speedometer also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 7) and device support (4 vs 2). Speedometer's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 4 months). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speedometer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Just a simple speedometer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Just a simple speedometer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer has 23 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Just a simple speedometer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Speedometer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Just a simple speedometer ships an update every 4 months, Speedometer every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
