# StepBloc vs Kutu

StepBloc and Kutu both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 86% of Kutu's written reviews are positive against 65% of StepBloc's. StepBloc's advantage is ratings volume (496 vs 58). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StepBloc sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Kutu sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Kutu holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StepBloc has 496 ratings behind it against 58, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 65% of StepBloc's written reviews are positive against 86% of Kutu's.

StepBloc ships an update weekly, Kutu every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
