# amu vs PhotoMatch

The clearest difference is ads: amu at none against PhotoMatch's shown. amu also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). PhotoMatch's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. amu sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month and PhotoMatch sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

amu ships an update every 2 weeks, PhotoMatch every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
