# Block vs Block Nova!

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Block at none against Block Nova!'s 5. Block also leads on review sentiment (66% vs 48%). Block Nova!'s advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (11K vs 285). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Block Nova! sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Block asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Block against 4.7 for Block Nova!. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Block Nova! has 11K ratings behind it against 285, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 66% of Block's written reviews are positive against 48% of Block Nova!'s.
