# ChessGPT vs TacticForge

The clearest difference is ads: TacticForge at none against ChessGPT's shown. TacticForge also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). ChessGPT's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ChessGPT sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month and TacticForge sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $5.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ChessGPT ships an update weekly, TacticForge every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
