# Uptalk vs Fluent Fiction

The clearest difference is rating: Uptalk at 5.0 against Fluent Fiction's 4.6. Fluent Fiction's advantage is ratings volume (8 vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Uptalk sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Fluent Fiction sells 27 in-app purchases, starting at $1.79 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Uptalk holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fluent Fiction has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Uptalk ships an update every 4 months, Fluent Fiction every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
