# Codenames vs Sho6Sho6

The clearest difference is rating: Sho6Sho6 at 4.0 against Codenames's 1.3. Codenames's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Codenames sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Sho6Sho6 sells 13 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sho6Sho6 holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 1.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 26 and 8 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 16% of Codenames's written reviews are positive against 0% of Sho6Sho6's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Codenames ships an update weekly, Sho6Sho6 every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
