# Speak Spanish vs Hola

The clearest difference is rating: Speak Spanish at 4.8 against Hola's 4.0. Speak Spanish also leads on ratings volume (5.1K vs 1) and chart position (#101 vs unranked). Hola's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speak Spanish sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $4.79 per month and Hola sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speak Spanish holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speak Spanish has 5.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Speak Spanish ships an update every 3 weeks, Hola every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
