# Stardate vs Mentor

The clearest difference is rating: Stardate at 4.5 against Mentor's 3.0. Stardate also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (24 vs 2). Mentor's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 79%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Stardate holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stardate has 24 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of Stardate's written reviews are positive against 100% of Mentor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stardate ships an update every 3 weeks, Mentor every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
