# PPSSPP vs FMC TYPER

The clearest difference is ads: PPSSPP at none against FMC TYPER's shown. PPSSPP also leads on ratings volume (2.8K vs 4) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). FMC TYPER's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 4 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PPSSPP sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and FMC TYPER sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FMC TYPER holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PPSSPP has 2.8K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 72% of PPSSPP's written reviews are positive against 100% of FMC TYPER's.

PPSSPP ships an update every 4 weeks, FMC TYPER every 2 days. Both last shipped on November 6, 2026.
