# SelfQuest vs GymMax AI

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SelfQuest at 70% against GymMax AI's 0%. SelfQuest also leads on ratings volume (490 vs 26). GymMax AI's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SelfQuest sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and GymMax AI sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GymMax AI holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SelfQuest has 490 ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of SelfQuest's written reviews are positive against 0% of GymMax AI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SelfQuest ships an update every 4 days, GymMax AI weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
