# PONANT Explorer vs Human Island

The clearest difference is update cadence: Human Island at every 10 days against PONANT Explorer's every 3 months. PONANT Explorer's advantage is ratings volume (8 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for PONANT Explorer against 5.0 for Human Island. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PONANT Explorer has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
