# Beeper vs Shortake

The clearest difference is rating: Beeper at 4.7 against Shortake's 3.5. Beeper also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 2). Shortake's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Beeper sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Shortake asks for nothing beyond the download.

Beeper holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Beeper has 1.1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Beeper's written reviews are positive against 79% of Shortake's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Beeper ships an update every 6 days, Shortake weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
