# Text Card vs DS Card

The clearest difference is rating: DS Card at 4.0 against Text Card's 3.0. DS Card also leads on ratings volume (8 vs 1). Text Card's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 91%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Card sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and DS Card sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DS Card holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DS Card has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Text Card's written reviews are positive against 91% of DS Card's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Text Card ships an update every 5 days, DS Card weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
