# Goat Maps vs Plot Routes

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Goat Maps at 76% against Plot Routes's 0%. Goat Maps also leads on ratings volume (51 vs 1). Plot Routes's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Goat Maps sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $29.99 per year and Plot Routes sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Plot Routes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Goat Maps has 51 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Goat Maps's written reviews are positive against 0% of Plot Routes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Goat Maps ships an update every 3 weeks, Plot Routes every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
