# Coffee Journal vs Coffee Library

Coffee Journal and Coffee Library both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 91% of Coffee Journal's written reviews are positive against 50% of Coffee Library's. Coffee Journal also leads on ratings volume (30 vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Coffee Journal sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $7.90 per month and Coffee Library sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Coffee Journal against 5.0 for Coffee Library. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Coffee Journal has 30 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 91% of Coffee Journal's written reviews are positive against 50% of Coffee Library's.

Coffee Journal ships an update every 5 days, Coffee Library every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
