# Golden Egg vs ROD

The clearest difference is rating: Golden Egg at 5.0 against ROD's 3.4. Golden Egg also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). ROD's advantage is ratings volume (14 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Golden Egg sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and ROD sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Golden Egg holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ROD has 14 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Golden Egg ships an update every 8 days, ROD fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
