# Roasted vs Explode 2

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Roasted at 100% against Explode 2's 48%. Roasted also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). Explode 2's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and ratings volume (6.6K vs 16). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Roasted sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Explode 2 sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Explode 2 holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Explode 2 has 6.6K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Roasted's written reviews are positive against 48% of Explode 2's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Roasted ships an update every 4 days, Explode 2 every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 16, 2026.
