# lokal vs Backgammon Mint

The clearest difference is ads: lokal at none against Backgammon Mint's shown. Backgammon Mint's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. lokal sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Backgammon Mint sells 20 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

lokal ships an update every 4 weeks, Backgammon Mint every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on September 30, 2026.
