# lokal vs Backgammon Online

The clearest difference is ads: lokal at none against Backgammon Online's shown. Backgammon Online's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 4 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. lokal sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Backgammon Online sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

lokal ships an update every 4 weeks, Backgammon Online every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
