# Cockatoo vs NoteBase

The clearest difference is review sentiment: NoteBase at 91% against Cockatoo's 64%. NoteBase also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and device support (3 vs 1). Cockatoo's advantage is ratings volume (743 vs 9) and update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cockatoo sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and NoteBase sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NoteBase holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cockatoo has 743 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 64% of Cockatoo's written reviews are positive against 91% of NoteBase's.

Cockatoo ships an update every 5 days, NoteBase fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
