# Mindsnap vs VisualMind

The clearest difference is ads: VisualMind at none against Mindsnap's shown. VisualMind also leads on ratings volume (3.3K vs 297). Mindsnap's advantage is review sentiment (48% vs 23%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mindsnap sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and VisualMind sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Mindsnap against 4.5 for VisualMind. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VisualMind has 3.3K ratings behind it against 297, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 48% of Mindsnap's written reviews are positive against 23% of VisualMind's.

Mindsnap ships an update weekly, VisualMind every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 1, 2026.
